A very presentable interior. Nice wood steering wheel, and all of the gauges work!

Driver's side rear. This is a "Series IIb" Spider. Series II ran from 1970,when the Duetto's sloping tail was revised into a Kamm tail, through 1982. IIb refers to 1975-1982 cars that have rubber rather than metal bumpers, meeting increased safety requirements in the U.S. The rear bumpers are notorious for falling apart. Akavish's was replace at significant expense about seven years ago. The Spider was restyled into the Series III, with front and rear spoilers, in 1983, and the Series IV with sculpted bumper covers and revised rear in 1991.

Series II Spiders tend to rust at the corners and in the rocker panels. Akavish was restored seven years ago. The rockers are still looking good but some rust returned at the corners, most notably the driver's rear. I did a repair on this area. If you've seen the e-Bay photos they show it as lighter blue; on April 18 I revisited it and got the color correct as seen here.

The seats are in good shape except for the splits on the driver's seat bottom and a couple of small ones on the passenger bottom. The backs and headrests are in great shape, so one could just cover or recover the bottoms and be all set.

Nice door panels have speakers. The Blaupunkt radio works but I can't get it off AM and onto FM alas.

The rubber seat scoops behind the seats are in excellent condition. These are cozy, suitable for only small children or pets (no seatbelts though), and best when the top is down. However their design lets the seats come back a little farther than the later Spider "package shelf" does, a benefit for tall drivers.

Like the other four the spare wheel is a nice Alfa Turbina alloy wheel.

Alfa's classic fuel-injected 2 liter engine. On this 1977 Alfa's own Spica fuel injection is used.

Here at the front corner there was a rust bubble that I cleaned out and treated. Not visible unless you're crawling under the car and I can do a better repair on it this week. Check out the brand new Kumho tires mounted on original Turbina alloy wheels...
