The rear angle of my '93 Veloce shows off the most clever elements of Pininfarina's 1990 redesign. The subtle upward flick of the trunk lid is a major change from the heavy black spoiler of the 1980s cars. The license plate is Italian for "The Spider."

Four variants on the long-running Alfa Spider are shown here for contrast: Our 1993, a Series III Quadrifoglio, a Series III Graduate, and a 1972 Series II.

The Spider seems right at home at Elk Run Vineyard. Noses are the most vulnerable spot on a Spider; this car has never had its kicked in, though it does have some rock chips that have been touched up (they all do).

We have a matching hardtop on the Spider right now to keep the cold at bay. It also makes it a bit quieter.

Not Alfa's brightest idea: Suede inserts in the leather seats. This low mileage car's seats are pretty nice still, but if they ever get wet or are subjected to heavy use, they aren't exactly durable. This two-owner car benefited from being garaged most of its life.

The mileage is approaching 35,000. It appears to be correct and original mileage given the car's condition. One question arises on the CarFax, but it appears to have been a typo early in the car's life. (To be safe, the most mileage on the car would be 42,000).

I built these rear speaker boxes because the original diameter speakers couldn't keep up, but I didn't want to cut the parcel shelf. They are removable. They sound great.
