With age and wisdom, people sometimes lose the ability to fall in love... not me. My latest automotive flame is this stunning 1991 Alfa Romeo 164S, Lucia nel Cielo. This amazing car was owned from new by my neighbor Raleigh Neville. He drove it a mere 18,500 miles in almost two decades.

I decided to buy this amazing Alfa to celebrate my election to the Alfa Romeo Owners Club presidency. The license plate expresses my pride in our American Alfa club and the community it engenders.

One of my favorite aspects of the 164s design is its elegant trunk with the full-width taillights. The S came with a standard spoiler, as nice as one could be but I have mixed feelings about its impact on the car's lines.

Raleigh lowered the car and put on aftermarket rims, notably changing its appearance. Fortunately he kept the original alloy wheels as well.
